A big headline discount means nothing if the terms quietly take it back. Here is the five-minute check our editors run on every featured coupon, from travel bookings to sneakers.
1. Read the three lines that matter
Expiry date, minimum spend, and which categories or brands are excluded. If any of those are missing from the offer page, treat it as a red flag.
2. Compare the final price, not the badge
A 75% off badge on an inflated base price can lose to a plain 20% off a fair price. Open the checkout, apply the code, and compare the number you actually pay.
3. Check who pays and how fast
Look for a named merchant, a real support email, and a cashback window. Vague promises like instant rewards with no timeline rarely survive our testing.
4. Search for the catch in reviews
Filter shopper reviews for words like excluded, expired, and region. One complaint is noise; ten with the same story is a pattern — and we delist on patterns.
